    Guys,

Is there a software or utility that will allow me to back up my HD, including the operating system onto a CD or DVD? So that if my HD crashed again, I will be able to boot from the CD and install everything into the new HD?

    Thanks!

You are looking to create an image of your hard drive. Something like Ghost. There are numerous offerings on the market. Do a forum search for past musings, using 'backup' or 'image+HD' as your terms

Despite products like this, there is still no excuse not to make backups of your precious files. I myself have 3 separate copies of my music, documents and pictures (and save game files :p)

I would recommend Acronis True Image. It is compatible with XP and Vista, and performs better than Ghost. And 'ATI' actually works, whereas I've had issues with Ghost not working when I needed it to.

I'd also suggest that you consider purchasing an external USB hard drive (or cheaper yet...build one...it is easy) from somewhere like www.newegg.com
