Hi, Sorry if this question has already been answered.

My notebook came with Windos 7 pre-installed and a factory reset option, but no install dvd.

Is it possible to make a backup of the factory reset installation files so that I can reformat my disk and install this from a DVD/USB?

    Thanks

Usually you'll have a program on your computer which will allow you to make your own 'series' of Operating System discs which will be basically like having your own Windows 7 Disc.

I have an acer and it comes with 'backup manager' which allows me to do this. Takes 3 regular sized dvd's or 2 dual layers. It's just a bunch of discs you put into your computer in order and it installs your OS right back to factory defaults.

Also, there is a premium option to order the factory install dvd (recovery disk) from your oem vender, usually like $20+ + s/h.

No. None of them ship it. It's a 'cheaper' way to just include the OS as an OEM on your laptop. Then ship it with a way to recover it as long as you don't mess up the partition yourself...
