Who EXACTLY complains about Arconis and Cobian as being unreliable?

And then you say that a paid video codec is 'less stable' than a free one?

    Better check your logic friend.

Acronis has had some issues before espeically around the time 7 came out, and a lot of people say the newest version is not so great.

That said I like Acronis and its my favorite paid program.

Oh and I have NEVER had Acronis properly make the rescue media for my USB flash drive. I always had to google how to make the usb bootable and use other programs to make it work.

I still recommend Acronis though its a good product but far from perfect.

For free stuff DriveImage XML gets the job done, its what I use at work and it never has failed even once.

I did some research and found out the built in backup utility in windows 7 is pretty good as well.
I can restore through usb/lan/wifi/internet servers/other computers in the house...etc.
Also, if the system fails and need to use the computer, i can run the backup system image instantly without restoring the backup itself. So it saves more critical time as the computer always breaks when you need it.

Restoring the image is easier than aronis as well. Simply select "repair windows" option and restore the image from there. If the hard drive is broken, then booting from usb/dvd/network can start the restore process.
