On my older computer I just received a BSOD titled "Bad Pool Caller". I haven't recently changed anything. Does anyone have any idea what this could be?

The computer has 2x 512mb RAM sticks and I tried taking 1 out and vice versa (thinking it could be the RAM) to no avail.

Any help would be much appreciative! Thank you so much in advance!

You get this repeatedly? What OS? What service pack level?

Also, here are instructions for debugging BSODs: http://forum.notebookreview.com/showpost.php?p=3439189&postcount=4

It sometimes tells you where the problem is occuring... what driver or what part of Windows.

I get it repeatedly. The computer will not start up at all, safe mode, normal, etc. Always goes directly to this BSOD. It's Windows XP, I'm not sure what service pack because it's my parents computer. Probably the most recent.

Try pressing F8 at startup and see if you get the option to run startup repair and/or system restore. You can also try that using the Windows disc if you have one. If that fails... reinstall Windows.

Another victim huh...well since u can't boot into safe mode either...it sounds like it's a done deal. You most likely are going to have to re-install XP. The only thing u can try that may save u from this agony is THIS. A Repair Installation.

Welcome to the club!...It's a Windows thing....
