Is there a program that can monitor amount of data transferred and the throughput and log it?

Try BitMeter. I've recently started using it, and it can tell you how much you've downloaded/uploaded in real-time, with a timer too, using the stopwatch setting.

There might be something better, but it's a nice and simple utility.

    Good idea.

I should give this a try!

Can BitMeter (or some other program you might know) monitor the bandwidth usage of other computers connected to a network? (I.e. we're 3 living in my apartment and I'd be interested to know who's stealing all my Internet!)

I use DD-WRT and while it's decent in showing the bandwidth being used I don't find it very good as it doesn't show how much bandwidth each node uses. It just gives you the overall bandwidth in general. :(

I've been using netstat live. I've never tried another to compare, but it works for my purposes
