Just got a used Dell Inspiron 1750. My first laptop. Question:

(with thew computer running and the lid closed) I want to be able to open the lid and go directly to the desktop. Currently when I open the lid, it requires me to click on the Dell icon to get to the desk top.

Is there a way to fix this?

    Thanks

Try clicking on your battery then in power options click on require a password on wakeup, then click on change settings that are currently unavailable then click on don’t require a password. Then save changes.
