Most likely as effective as Memory optimizers/defragers , maybe a few minutes extra battery time but not double
-
It probably was good for its time (2003/2004). With current XP and Vista and notebook manufacturers battery management apps, I doubt that it would give anyone any benefits, adverse effect maybe.

But what about the battery calibrator he mentioned? Do you think it helps?

To calibrate you battery you basically leave your notebook switched on till the battery runs out and it shuts down, and then fully charge it with the notebook turned off, no software needed for that.

Oh ok! I thought there was some other trick but oh well -
I thought this was bad for your battery, and kills it off? -
Battery calibration (running it down to empty and recharging) was only really necessary with the older NiMH and NiCad batteries. These newer Lithium ion batteries don't need that.

Check the battery guide.

Agreed with the statement other users have provided, it may be dumb now.
Windows Vista/7 already have Power Option to control the battery voltage usage and with the latest hardware, the CPU and GPU would downclock themselves while idle to lower the power usage.
Acer Timeline have 8hours of battery power/life. WOW!
Battery Doubler. Is it good?
