    Hello,

I have a Sony VAIO FZ38M and my batteries discharge very quickly when I use Windows 7, compared to Vista.

Also I only have the "Turn Off the Display" option under Power Options,Plan Settings (No "Dim the display", "Put the computer to sleep" and "Adjust plan Brighness").

    What should I do?

Have you checked from any updates in Action Center. My laptop gets various warnings in there telling me about how my power management plan needs to be updated.

Was happening to me at first as well, kinda freaked me out. First I'd advise you have updated all your drivers, as I'm pretty sure that can affect how much power is being drained by your devices and stuff. Next, give it a couple days, seems to settle after about a week of normal use on battery; could try calibrating your battery (should be in your manual how to do that for your laptop). For me, after using it for a while, things seem to be calibrated now. I don't know why, as a clean install of Vista for me was always pretty consistent in readings. i'd suggest just giving it a try for a while, at first I was barely managing 4-5 hours, now I'm getting 5.5-7 hours (usually 5.5-6 depending on use).

Hmm thats weird, my battery life is pretty much the same as it was in vista. Have you modified your power plan? does it resemble what you previously had?
