Hello! For several days I've been looking for a battery software that has the option where you can choose wether to charge or not the battery. I remember Dell XPS 15 (L502x) had an option to do so, but my new computer doesn't have that and I find it quite useful when gaming. Is there any software that does that? I've tried BatteryCare, but it has no such option.
Thanks in advance!

"Charging threshold" as I understand is currently available for Lenovo Thinkpad and under Linux only. I haven't found any Windows utility that allows users to decide when to charge the battery at certain level.

It should be supplied by Dell on their support website for your model number. Most laptops have this option. It's a specific software that is usually installed along with the drivers. Don't store the battery for a long time without a charge left in it or dead, this can't be good.

What's the wear level on your battery? The number of charging cycles and battery being exposed to excessive heat from laptop's internal components decrease your battery's performance. I've always kept it at 100% charged and used the laptop on battery about 3 out of 7 days a week and I have a 22% wear level after almost 3 years which is not bad.

It's brand new...around three weeks. About excessive heat exposure not much since I'm not on vacations so don't play heavy games. And cycles could be 2-3 a week. If that's ok then I'll keep it that way.
