great little program
i got it last time it was on offer -
Thanks, this is a nice utility.
But I don't see much additional benefit with the 'pro' other than more customization options and themes and such..
Of course, there is the additional feature of choosing which profile to run when on battery or when plugged in, plus those additional notifications..
But, I think, the Windows 7 power scheme has enough, good notifications to be customized, with enough options for choosing what to do when the battery of low or when the battery is at a critical level and so on..
Also, Vista battery saver has been good too, for the plugged in and on battery profiles... So, I am not sure if the batterybar pro is any better than the free version..
Having said that, it's a really good tool and utility.
Also, I have a question: for those who have used the Pro, and who have used Vista battery saver, which do you think is better, for additional management of the power schemes? Is the Batterybar pro better than vista battery saver (which runs well in Windows 7, btw).
Thanks and cheers. -
Thanks for posting this, just bought another 2 copies.
Fonduekid, does Vista Power Saver do anything besides disable Aero (Battery bar does this too) and Sidebar? I've never heard of it before or used it but I was looking on their website and seems that is all it does. I don't use the sidebar but I don't like non-Aero so I just leave it as is. In device manager I have my drivers disabled of things I never use (bluetooth, optical drive, ethernet, etc). -
You are right - It disables the aero at a level chosen by you (battery bar does this too), sidebar enable or disable, and let' you chose a profile for use on battery or plugged in (and I just saw batterybar does this too).
Well.. I don't know.. In fact, I just got the Batterybar Pro, just out of curiosity to see what additional features it has... for sure, it has the advantage of doing what vista battery saver did, along with info about battery use, notifications and such...
So there.. in general, probably batterybar pro is better for the fact that it has all features packed into one..
Cheers. -
^^I also purchased, and I like how easy the program works. Easy install and everything.
Deal is still live, BTW if anyone is interested. : )
