Hi. On my netbook (1.6 GHz Atom N270), when I boot up with BatteryBar set to boot up, it causes around an additional minute of bootup. Is there a cause?
I'm running XP SP3 btw.
-
IIRC that's a .NET application, and likely the first/only one started at that point, so the runtime needs to be loaded first. Shouldn't take a full minute though, just a couple of extra seconds (or is the Atom that slow?)...
-
How exactly did you test this? Before I installed battery bar, it was xx seconds then after I installed it was xx seconds. Did you test it like that? If so, that is the wrong way to determine.
-
After while of having it, it started to get the boot time slower for some reason, i didn't really time it or anything. Before it was OK.
-
So what happens now if you stop this battery bar thingy from loading at boot?

Hey MisterQ.
What version of Battery Bar do you have? If you're using v3.2 Beta, I suggest you downgrade first to the stable v3.1 build 60.
If you haven't done this yet, you may want to post your queries on Osiris Development's Customer Feedback & Ideas Site. Actual OD staff and admin can help you out there.
As for myself, Battery Bar hasn't delayed my startup time at all. However, the "Full Lifetime" values weren't showing up the first time I installed it, but after a few days it started appearing. -
It loads significantly faster than before. Also, when I open it in toolbars (right-clicking on the start menu > Toolbars > BatteryBar), it takes also around 30 secs - 1min to open.
I'm using v3.2 build 62 beta. I'll try that out, and ask the Osiris Development staff
. I'll first time it with and without batterybar.

Then perhaps you ought to stop using it in the first place?
BatteryBar is slowing down boot time...
