Why does it install OpenCandy? I opted for the portable version instead because of that; does it have the OpenCandy adware/spyware also?

What is the point of this program? I've never heard of it before. What exactly does it do?

I've tried battery optimization software on Android and notebooks; never have been able to trust them whole heartedly. Besides, there is such an onslaught of power management optimization on a hardware level these days.

Have you used this, OP? Anyone have any thoughts on this program?

I've used batterycare for years. It's a fine program, just yeah, check the options when installing to avoid installing any extra crap. It's a competitor to BatteryBar.

I think it a worthless program if you can't manage your own install programs and task set run program there is more problem at hand then just battery save. It's not that hard to take a good look at your "Startup folder" and task running program to ask what do I really need to run all the times? And if it doesn't need to run why have it in the "Startup folder" when your not using it and only run it when you use it. Also rebooting every so often will clear the memory and release stuck programs that could be draining the battery just to maintain the programs in Memory. So there are lots of thinks the user can do to save on battery if they really want to like "Clean House" and only let's core programs that need to run in memory and that will do more to save your battery then use a extra program that itself will also take memory resource to run and aka Battery to run as well so you didn't save anything but added more drain on the battery itself.

I went to install one of the latest Crystal Disk Info programs and "BAM" AVG 2014 found open candy during the install. If there is an option to unselect it I am not sure, I aborted the install and went back to the old version.
Luckily I keep a folder of all programs I have installed on my machines just for cases like this and fresh installs.

There should be, at least in all the versions I've tried to install.
