Hi. I wanna do a benchmark topic for my Clevo P377SM-A but currently i don't know all the software that I should download to make it more complete. Anyone can drop me some names here?
    thanks

    free or paid?

I only use one paid program which benchmarks my whole PC, every component of it,

    PassMark Performance Test

There are many free ones but you have to benchmark each component individually

FutureMark's 3D Mark is a good one to test graphical capabilities. You can also go for the good old wPrime for CPU performance. Those two are free, well 3DMark has a paid and free version. If you want to bench for CAD, SpecViewPerf is the one for it. Aside from that, there is always geekbench, but that is geared towards other types of workloads. You can use AS SSD, CrystalDiskMark and a few otherf that I forgot the names of to bench your SSD and other drives.

    Paid:

    PassMark Performance Test

    3DMark

    Free:

AS SSD Benhcmark (for benchmarking SSDs)
CrystalDiskMark (for benchmarking SSDs and HDDs)
    Prime95 (for benchmarking CPU)

But if I were you, I would just buy PassMark, it's a one time fee, but benchmraks every aspect of your PC, video, cpu, memory, you name it and gives you a nice overall score at the end

this can help when let's say, you install new hardware or a new driver and want to see if your system is now better, the same, or worse.

You can't believe how many times I installed newer drivers such as newer nVIDIA drivers only to discover that they are wore than the older one of the manufactuer provided ones which are usually older, but optimized to work on a certain laptop better.

it's your choice, your machine, and your investment of how you want to measure things :)

Just do not forget one of the best test programs and it is 3dmark vantage. It's brilliant for testing gpu and cpu or both at the same time ;-) 3dmark is not a particularly good test program then 3dmark 11 a better option.

Vantage? That is hardly taxing as later 3DMarks and the results are unreliable for newer equipment because it is so biased towards the CPU.

Here's some other free ones not necessarily GPU related:

    CPU:
    Prime95 (for stress testing)
    wPrime
    x264 Benchmark
    Cinebench 11.5
    Passmark

    Hard Drive / SSD
    CrystalDiskMark
    AS SSD

    System:
    PCMark 8

Vantage isn't that CPU biased, but it it a DX10 benchmark, so 3DMark 11 is a more solid choice these days. 3DMark06 was heavily CPU influence though.

The nice thing about nbr is that the people that are here are always very helpful and friendly. Many of the programs everyone presented me, I didn't knew them. Thank you all for being so friendly :D

3DMark Vantage is an excellent test for cpu in gaming context. It is tough but not as demanding as Prime95 or Wprime. Cpu test must be in the context of normal cpu load during games and other stuff. And it does not Prime95 and Wprime, for they are not good tests for normal PC use. Maybe combined test in 3dmark 11, but not 3dmark (firestrike). :hi2:
