I like PowerISO the best, but you have to pay for it. However, it is very stable and virus-free.

Another vote for daemon tools lite, it even gives the option for multiple languages in the interface.

I managed to get the pro version for free during giveawayoftheday had it a few months ago but its a one time deal and when I installed my SSD a week later I had to downgrade back to lite.

Been using Virtual CloneDrive but moved to DaemonTools Lite , simply because Virtual CloneDrive cant mount certain types of images, whereas DT Lite can. :)

I use VCD and have associated the .ISO extension with it so clicking on a movie ISO automatically mounts it as a DVD and auto-play then automatically runs MPC-HC to play it on my HTPC.

Daemon Tools Lite is probably the most advanced. Just make sure to untick everything in the installer that you don't need.

I'll add yet another vote for Daemon Tools Lite, noting that it's got a particular advantage over other free solutions in its breadth of disc image compatibility - you can get most image types running with zero hassle.

The one function I wish they would add is the ability to emulate a CD/DVD/Blu-Ray writer, but you can't have everything in the free version of a paid program.

I use Alcohol 52%. Free version of Alcohol 120%, and has no startup processes like Damon Tools. Works well

    Wait!

Although Daemon Tools Lite works very well, it uses the SPTD (SCSI Pass Through Direct) driver by Duplex Secure which conflicts with ImGBurn and can cause bad burns. Uninstalling DTL does not uninstall the driver. Regardless of what they say, the driver is nearly impossible to uninstall.

Because of that I ended up reinstalling Windows and use DVDFab Virtual Drive

LOVE WinCDEmu!!! they also have the portable version that doesn't need to be installed. Great software if you just need to mount iso.
