I am learning to use C++ and would appreciate recommendations for software.

I used Code::Blockers but was very disappointed. As a beginner, I thought I made a mistake in my programs, but in fact it was a bug in the software. I spent a lot of time working out on the program and was therefore very annoyed.

I am thinking about trying Eclipse or Visual C++, any suggestions?

Visual studio express or Visual C++ express is recommended for beginners. It's also free from microsoft. MS loves students and you should take advantage of that.

Thanks. I thought it might be the case. I tried Eclipse out of curiosity but it's too difficult for a beginnner to understand.

Visual Studio Express Editions are free and great. By far my first choice.

Visual Studio is not for beginners, but Visual studio express edition is definetly for beginners.
