Ok, I've got a pretty good sized DVD collection going and I'd like to back it up/store it on my desktop PC. I'm willing to pay for the software. I'm looking for the quickest, most feature packed, simple software at a reasonable price. I'm not into the free stuff- using 3-4 different programs just to get a clean copy- I want an all in 1 solution that preferably converts to WMV.

Let me know what you think! :)

I use avidemux to convert my DVDs into h264. I think avidemux can also be used to convert into wmv too. It is a free software but it doesn't need to install another software or anything... Also, it has a portable version.

+1 for DVDFab Platinum. I've tried just about every program there is and DVDFab has the best combination of features vs speed. Heck, about 45% of the programs I tested didn't work, or didn't support AC3 audio.

I'm converting to xvid with AC3 5.1 audio at a bit rate of 4500 and get excellent results on a large HDTV. File sizes range from 1.2GB to 6GB (Saving Private Ryan), though they average about 2.5GB.
