    Best DVD burining software for Vista ???

    i was used to Nero on XP. now im switching to Vista but i heard that Nero is "making ur dvd drive disappear" on Vista ??? what r u using?

    Oh dear! Am I missing out on something. :eek: I have been using Nero 7 with Vista for nearly a year and haven't had any disappearing optical drives. :confused:

    Like John, been using Nero 7 w/ Lightscribe support on Vista 32/64bit for a while now. No problems.

    I had horrible issues with Nero 7 in Vista... Out of curiosity, what are you going to be burning? If its simple file storage, Vista can burn dvd's easily.

    nero is the biggest piece of garbage and not worth the time it takes to put the disc in the drive.. again that is my opinion.. just hope you dont have to remove ver 8 ... i have personally seen it destroy vista and xp installs upon removal..MANY times. it leaves behind over 1300 reg entries

    Ashampoo Burning Studio FREE is a decent alternative though... albeit it's certified for Vista 32bit only ;)


    If the problem you guys are having with Nero, is due to its 'bloatware'... you should consider either Nero Lite or (my personal favourite) Nero Micro:


    They still require you to have a Nero 8 serial... but they're a god-send compared to the full product, if you don't need/use everything it offers ;)

    ImgBurn is the best all around burning software. Free and very small footprint.
