Hi,
I'm looking for the best software (ease of use) to convert a DVD (possibly blu-ray) to a good looking format easily viewed on an Ipad2.
I personally use dvd shrink (to remove unnecessary stuff) and handbrake for the final encoding, however, it took me a lot of trial/error to find optimal settings for what I need. Frankly, I found it difficult for someone who has next to zero computer aptitude (ie who doesn't understand file extensions, resolution, compression etc), and would probably turn someone off to the idea altogether. The ideal case is where you simply chose an output device, and hit encode.
The google search results seem to be littered with garbage websites that claim to "recommend" software, which seem to just be setup by the actual software developer.
The candidates I've found are:
Aiseesoft DVD to iPad Converter Review | iPadinTouch
SlySoft CloneDVD mobile | DVD to PSP, DVD to iVideo, DVD to ZEN (I really like anyDvd, and would probably trust this most)
Bonus points if I can actually have the software in hand, as I'd like to have it as a wrapped present.
If there doesn't seem anything worthy, then I guess I'll just have to sit down and explain how to use handbrake.
Thanks!
