I'm moving into a new place and I won't have a TV, so I'm going to be using my laptop as my media center/DVR. I have a pinnacle USB tv tuner and an M1530 with Vista 32 bit, so I have the option of using Windows Media Center to download guide information and set recordings, which seems like it will work fine, but I was wondering if anyone else has any 3rd party software that they prefer over WMC? I know my brother has a desktop he built to run as a DVR and he uses Myth TV, but I don't know much about that. Any suggestions?

The Vista Media Center is pretty awesome at handling this sort of thing. There is also Beyond TV or you could go the Linux route with Mythtv.
