Kigo Image Converter is (as you might guess) a decent image conversion program. It'll batch-convert pictures to specified size or add watermarks. It's worked for me on XP (32-bit) and vista (64-bit).

Hello,
Someone was asking here for a free taskbar battery tool.
May I suggest BatteryBar 2.1
http://vb.nitescifi.com/batterybar.html
I have tested it on both Vista and XP, It does require .Net Framework 2.0
BatteryBar is a simple, straight-forward, battery meter that displays your battery status in your taskbar.
When you're running on battery, BatteryBar shows the percentage bar in green (> 40%), yellow (25-40%), or red (< 25%). The bar displays the time left on your battery in Hours:Minutes
When charging, the percentage bar is shown in blue to indicate charging, and the estimated time to full charge is shown. The bar turns black and shows "On A/C" when fully charged
You can also edit the colors in the Application Data folder to your liking if you dont like the chosen ones like I did. Its in xml format but doable in notepad.
Super job on the list , Its great to see all this good stuff in one location and saving people a lot of time searching and trying.
Much Apprecheated... -
is auslogics defrag so much better than the windows one?
-
It completes faster typically. If you want a quality defrag option use jkdefrag.
-
Faster? Yes -
-
-
-
you mean +3 =)
-
What settings do you guys use for JKDefrag when you run it? Do you use default settings?
-
Yes, default settings.
-
Ditto to that
-
-
good soft thanks

lol...good software! wat else?

i was looking at the encryption items and i am wondering if they work with bittorent clients. i was given the suggestion to use peer guardian 2 but that doesnt support vista at the moment.
-
where can i find a free drivers updater and installer for windows vista premium
or is there a free drivers software installer and updater??
is RADARSYNC!free??? www.radarsync.com -
^ DriverMax > http://www.innovative-sol.com/drivermax/
-
thank you, i have a question , i dont have a lot experience about updating drivers . does this driver max autmatic updates my old drivers and install the new ones.???
and do i have to reinstall windows vista premium after installing. because i dont have the disc of vista premium. -
Btw, when downloading the dmx file, take the ones which have the highest rating / downloads or whatever (just to be safe n sure)
and restart your system once its done.
as for reinstalling vista, why would you need to reinstall??? you dont have to do anything of that sort and since u say you dont have a disc, dont do it..
You just need to restart/reboot the system. -
Well, first, *Crack* discussion are *Against* forum rules.. this applies to everything. So you might want to edit out your post.
Second, I don't know what the problem is.. I wouldn't trust too much on illegal software and I don't think there is really a need for one. Simply because, for almost all the leading paid software, there is an free, functional alternative available (as can be seen from the first post of this thread). I always stick with stuff thats free and stuff for which I pay for. -
Hear hear!
-
I got the OK to put up Bittorent Clients and put them up I have, shame there's only a couple that are good though or I would put up more.
-
Keep it clean guys.
-
i am still wondering if the encryption programs listed will work in bittorrent programs.

Since the guide doesn't say "no betas", how about Google Chrome: http://www.google.com/chrome
-
I don't like including beta's, and I don't really feel a need to add "No betas" up there because I assume everyone likes stable software, and if they don't then that's their fun. I don't want 5,000 people to complain how Chrome crashed and their bank account information was messed up or something.
-
Question along the side:
Would you want to input bank account details into Chrome anyway?
Google... collects data...
Google collects so much information about you... I only ever use their internet service... none of their software.
Maybe be spy-free software would be good too... -
And just because a product is a "final version" doesn't make it perfect either.
But it's pointless to get in to an argument about this. If you don't want to include betas, that's fine. It's probably safer that way. -
I have some suggestions for the list in several categories. First, a few programs for pulling content off the web (I do a lot of off-line browsing since my web access is limited):
WinHTTrack -- This program will copy entire websites to your hard-drive for off-line browsing, as long as they have a fairly simple structure (no dynamically generated sites). It also maintains a central HTML page linking to all your downloaded sites, and can be run on a site again to pull only changed content. This is great for grabbing peoples homepage, or other interesting little sites you'd like to browse later (I keep all of XKCD).
NeoDownloader Lite -- This is a handy little application that crawls a site, or part of a one, and downloads all the pictures. It also has some filtering options, and customizable search parameters. The one downside is that the free version contains a banner add slot, but it's fairly unobtrusive.
YouTube Downloader -- Just what it sounds like, a simple program that takes the url of a YouTube page and then downloads the movie on that page.
Maintenance Applications:
Glary Utilities -- None of this program's individual functions is particularly remarkable, but it is a very useful tool in that it bundles a lot of things you would usually need separate tools for together in a nice, user-friendly, package. It includes: a very good startup manager, context menu manager, file splitter, free-space wiper, registry cleaner, track eraser, encryption app, undeleter, disk usage scanner, disk cleaning tools, and quite a bit more. This is a great program for people who only want one (I often give it to less tech-savvy friends).
Total Uninstall 2 -- I've seen several people asking how they can get rid of the traces of previously installed software, but this is the only program I've ever found that does an entirely thorough job. You use it while installing the program, and then it keeps its own independent listing of everything that installation added or changed in the registry and on the drive. There are 3 newer versions, but I've never tried them as I like the visual simplicity of version 2.
Eraser -- A good free-space cleaner and file shredder with more options than other programs I've seen. I don't have much need for this, but I thought it was especially cool that it lets one wipe the data used by undelete programs without actually writing over the whole drive repeatedly.
I hope thats of some use to somebody. -
I recommend adding Dev-C++ as an IDE.
http://www.bloodshed.net/devcpp.html
It's a truly awesome C/C++ IDE. -
I can vouch for WinHTTrack, nice & useful software
-
Same here, pretty nice piece of software.
-
The YoutubeDownloader - I found that they stopped working after some time...
I'd recoomend Real Player for that. And "super" for converting if equired. -
-
-
Any recommendations for partition software? Preferrably something that works live instead of booting into something else, Im on an Aspire One - no disc drive and I need to change the stock partitions.

Darth Bane Dark Lord of the Sith
Does anyone know of a freeware program that will convert all pictures in a folder into one image format?
-
There are batch image converters... If I remember well, IrfanView can do this as well... Or

cdburner xp or burnaware?
-
Anyone know of a media player that can bookmark a spot on an MP3 so that you can return to that spot later? Having to remember your current time in an instruction MP3 file and forwarding to it later is annoying.
-
I couldn't think of software, I doubt it exists...
But:
What about using a pad and paper to write the time down? Or notepad... -
-
-
Yea, Media Monkey does that too, storing your position in a file between sessions. However, it only saves your spot in the file you're currently listening to, if you go and listen to something else you will still loose your place. Does SMP keep track of your spot in multiple files at once?
