Anybody thought about WinRaR? Even though it comes up with a notice that its a 40 day trial it continues to work fine.

Why even deal with that notice? 7-zip is much faster anyways.

+1 for 7-zip as well. It opens practically any kind of compressed file, including RAR's.

I now, again, try to switch to 7-Zip. still in the winrar habbit.

I've found 7-Zip Theme Manager. But currently, I can't download it successfully (and open it, then).

Just made the switch from winrar to 7-zip by popular demand. So far it works great.

7 Zip is the best. But Uniextract can extract .exe files.

Wow, that's what I was looking for.
I did manage to download the file. And 7zip opened it fine.
    Haven't tested it yet.

Winrar is obviously the best software to open winrar files. Duh. It's free and it doesn't actually expire after the expiration date. LOL

WinRAR, even after trial it has satifatorily functionality. 7Zip is only better in commpresion in it's own format.

There are ways of disabiling the "buy-the--thing" popup. Of course, if you know where to look for these information, you will already be using a copy of registered or activated winrar. :)

the problem with 7zip is that it is quite a bit slower than winrar, and the amount of extra compression that 7zip offers over rar format is not worth it

there are charts comparing 7zip format to rar format and rar is the overall winner

however, there is that popup, doesn't annoy me one bit though, it appears instantly and disappears instantly after you click okay.. and yes there are ways to get rid of it.. but that popup really isn't much of a hassle
