    The uxtheme.dll patch allows you to choose any theme made for a MS Style...just like silver or olive green. Right now I'm using a brushed metal theme that looks quite nice. I also use a Vista Icon pack for new icons (the xp ones are not pleasing at large sizes).

    Also try Vista Inspirat...though I hear the Vista Transformation pack might be nicer...I had good luck with Inspirat and used it for a long time.

    microsoft royale is nice. much better than the default blue. I wouldnt want to change from it now i have it.

    You can pick up a number of themes compatible with the uxtheme.dll patch (also linked from there) at interfacelift.

    I use one of them in conjunction with Emerge Desktop, which gives you a dock and some other nice features, though it's a bit resource-intensive (gotta love that core duo).
