the best security is training YOURSELF to not pull bonehead moves when web surfing.
threats and browsers change all the time. thinking that there is any one 'best' tech solution is fooling yourself. -
id say firefox b/c of the frequent security patches and the popup/etc extensions
IE usually follows a strict update schedule unless there is a very serious problem
and chrome... i dont feel it has a large enough user base yet to determine if it is really secure
and opera.. feels like there's so much going on that there's more opportunities for holes (but i could be wrong, opera has more features than any other browser, perhaps they are also as diligent with security as they are with its feature set)
btw, you could limit internet content with extensions like noscript and be super safe, but you might as well just set your browser to work offline; i listed the major browsers out there, these are also the same ones that aren't limited and maintain a good level of security at the same time.. i believe, however, that there are browsers out there designed specifically to be super safe by blocking everything, or perhaps browsers that are "skeleton browsers" that can't open various internet content and so could be considered safer.. albeit useless -
I'd say Firefox with Adblock Plus, although you could also add on Flashblock and No-script. That's a deadly combo, can't beat it.

The most secure browser is one that doesn't run either Flash or Adobe Reader.
-
firefox. you can customize it to your liking with many security addons. (NoScript and AdBlock)
-
Firefox has the largest community so i guess there are more plugin options out there. On the other hand, is a public project and i'm affraid someone can hack it more easy.
-
Kaspersky IS has a Safe-Run feature which runs programs in virtual and secure environments. Its very nifty if you are not sure.

Just between ie8 and FF. My spycatchers clean up significantly more malware from FF, about 2 to 1. Minor cookies as I have not had a serious attack in a while. Opera was too buggy and Chrome still gets getting used to.

Best internet browser Firefox and a strong dose of common sence...
-
i clicked it ^^ jk...use opera...its can be a little glitchy at times but its fast and has some of the fewest security issues. also it has the best feature ever.....you can save sessions!!! If your working on a paper or building a computer you can save that session and close the window and come back later!
-
you can also save your sessions in firefox, i believe also in chrome, not sure in IE
Best Internet Browser with the best security add-ons?
