RAM Defrag program? Why would you need that? The data in the RAM is lost each time you switch off the PC and RAM is very fast so it wouldn't make a difference.

Edit: Ok, so a RAM defrag program frees up waste data left by programs, but I still don't see what's wrong with the occasional restart if you're going to play a game. Though I've not noticed any performance difference playing a game after using other programs.

    Hi

Vista has it own built in automatic ram freeing program built in, and it seems to work really well for me.

    Regards

    John.

Why would you want to defrag ram?

You don't need to defrag RAM...no program like this exists.

The only program i've ever heard of that comes close to the OP's request was a Pagefile degrag but to my knowledge that only exists for Windows XP.

Both Vista manager 1.5 and Advanced system cleaner 1.8 both have RAM defragmentar and it does frees up RAM and makes a lot of difference.

Try it and let me know .

What Im looking for is not a trial version but a completely free one .

    Regards.

Iolo Memory Mechanic does RAM defragmentation, I think. I used to use this before. It's free and I don't think it makes a lot of differences... All I know is that it slows up my PC when its doing the defragmentation.

For me, I only tried out a free program and stop using it after one try. Probably useful for people who doesn't want to restart their computer too much and they love to open and close lots of program.

Windows One Care (free version) & Iolo's System Mechanic lets you free up RAM. But you shouldn't have to, Vista's inbuilt one is pretty effective.

Sounds like peeing into the wind to me. Launch another application (which, by the way, will use some of your RAM) to monitor RAM usage and 'clean it up'???

You do not need ram defrag programs.
