    Anyone got one?

It seems like everyone I use, it lags me.

The only one that doesn't is FRAPS.

Only bad thing about it, is the large file sizes.

Well duh, recording lossless (also explains big size u need to compress in for instance movie maker) takes a lot of power.. I havent ever used any other programs to record ingame though..

    Game and in general.

I just wanted to know what people use, and what they think it the best. I already know performance loss when recording, thats a given.

    In game - FRAPS, Gamecam
General - The only one I know of is Hypercam, but that's not a great one.

If you have vista/windows 7 you can use FRAPS for general recording as well. Since the desktop uses Direct X.

just use fraps to record, and then an editing program to re-encode/shrink the file size. Even windows movie maker will do that.

Agreed on, actually. Recently I saw someone using it and I must admit it is a rather good screen recorder. You can select different areas of the screen to record, and I think that Camtasia also comes with it's own editor.

"Click here to view OUR advantages over OUR competitors" ??????? I appreciate hearing about your product, but I don't appreciate someone posting in the forum without telling us that he is posting about his own product.

Well with the advertising aside :D

Does anyone recommend a good Codec for Camtasia?

I have been trying it out, and I like it so far, but the only good framerate I get, with little lagging, is the Pure Framerate option.

I tried the Microsoft one, the Camtasia one, the Divix Dual CPU's one, all gave the same low framerate results.
