    Hello hello folks,

So what I would like to do is setup a program/script/something to do the following:

    - Connect to my Tivo and download new recordings automatically (I believe Tivo Desktop can do this)
    - Convert the .tivo files to .avi/.mpg/.mkv automatically (this I have no clue)
    - After conversion is done, delete the .tivo files (I feel that a conversion program would be able to do this part relatively easily)

That's it! Any and all help is greatly appreciated!

I have a Tivo HD if that matters at all.

Check out KMTTG over at Google Code hosting. It's a free open source Tivo Desktop replacement that can automate downloading, commercial skip and re-encoding of Tivo files. A bit of a learning curve, but I love it.

Thank you this seems perfect. Do you have any tips for getting the auto transfer to work?

I believe you need to install it as a service. Under one of the menu options there should be a way to do this.
