My HP 6710b comes with an Authentec sensor and the default program installed is HP Credential Manager. I don't really like it and I'm looking for a better program.
I tried Onmipass wich has a cool feature to enable "post-BIOS" but "pre-OS load" fingerprint authorization, but it does not work for me.
What's the best program for you?

i dont think there are many freeware fingerprint reader softwares out there (most are tied to specific hardware, or really expensive, or both)
-
I don't need it to be freeware. And most computers use the same few fingerprint sensors, so that's not really a problem.

It's been a couple of weeks since I'm trying to find a good porgram. Most of them are just pure bloatware. People is forced to use the free program from another notebook brand, and it works if the sensor hardware is the same.

I don't think many people on here use one. I remember a thread a while ago when someone asked how useful one was. Most of the people said they liked the gimmick for a little while, then it grew old and they uninstalled the software. I think your best bet would really be google in this case.

i use the software that came with my sager it works well for me

I use the ThinkVantage password manager with the Thinkpads and it works awesome! stores all websites with a single swipe
-
I tried ThinkVantage and it does not work with my HP. I tried another IBM program and it works ok with my authentec sensor, but I cannot integrate it in the Windows logon screen.

My Dell's UPEK one is great...though there's no pre-BIOS thing I think, it can save my online banking's username and password, which helps me a lot.
