Ok so this will be my first time partitioning my hard disk and I've had no previous experience before. I'm doing this for my Dell Inspiron 6400, so which programs would you recommend to me? Thanks in advance.

I would recommend Partition Magic or Paragon Partition Manager, just search for them on a p2p network.

The free program that's comes to mine is Digital Dolly Live CD. It's a old unix/Linux utility that works wonders.

I second Partition Magic...however P2P is NOT the way to go. Yes they are pay-for programs, but that's legitimate.

I would also recommend GParted. It has worked for me numerous times.

GParted, definitely. Free, easy to use, and almost always works. And since it's a LiveCD, it can even be used on drives you can't boot.

GParted, totally free and very easy to use (as long as you can boot from a CD)
