I have thousands of pictures all over the place on my harddrive, I was looking for a program to organize them into folders. I dont want a software that organizes them in the program itself. I want to organize them on the hard drive side.

I found a program called robofolder that will move pictures based on date but it doesnt work properly.

I was wondering what is the best way to organize my picture catastrophe and what does everyone else do??

    Thanks alot!

Hi guys, I appreciate the suggestions, but acdsee and picasa are both programs that organize within the software. I wanted to organize my folders so its not pics all over the place.

sounds like you need to manually organize your pics and folders and then figure out what program to use (or get a Mac)

Can't you do it manually? I'm guessing it would be easier than using a software solution.

Google Picassa2 is good for finding them all. I prefer creating my own directory/folder structures to contain/organize them.

Yes Picasa organize within the software...but you can use this "organization" to organize on the hard drive side...drag and drop work in Picasa...

exemple: ask picasa to show you only pictures containing the keyword Blue...
Create the folder Blue...the folder appears in the Picasa navigation system...pouf drag and drop...

Picasa is the AOL of photo organizers.
