I just put on some AS5 in my laptop. Please check my post, very last one in the link. http://forum.notebookreview.com/not...e-cooling-down-your-notebook-computer-39.html
I have core temp,HW monitor,& speccy. Not one of them show my GPU temps.I have ran all 3 at once & they all show same temps,so all of them seem good.
Its had around 49hrs total running.I only shut my laptop off once since AS5 application,20mins to cool.Had it running 29hrs before doing so.I know its not really a test, but I watched a 20min video of crysis2 in 1080p full screen & it got to 62*,but quickly went down after vid was over & I closed it.I was running 4 other tabs & uploading a decent size file at the same time.I hope I didn't make a mistake, put some AS5 on the bridge along with the cpu & GPU.The bridge's thermal pad still looks fairly new,but figured AS5 would transfer heat better still.I stored the thermal pad in case I ever need it.Sorry I keep saying bridge, its south bridge probably.
Is their a all in one program that shows cpu, gpu,& bridge temps?

HWiNFO is an excellent app that displays temps from all available sensors plus much more.
-
HWmonitor is also another good option
CPUID - System & hardware benchmark, monitoring, reporting -
I guess I have no sensor for GPU & bridge.I downloaded speed fan.Well I think I fd up.It is keeping temps down, but I think it might be affecting the break in process. Here is the readout when it starts & what I did.
Win9x:NO 64Bit:YES GiveIO:NO SpeedFan:YES
I/O properly initialized
Linked ISA BUS at $0290
Linked ATI SB8x0 SMBUS at $0B00
Linked ISA BUS at $0CCB

Found Hitachi HTS545032B9A300 on AdvSMART
Found ACPI temperature
End of detection

Set delta value for fan speeds:99 .Then checked set fan speeds to 100% on exit.
Went to temperatures,HDD desired:40 warning:50
Temp1,mobo im guessing. desired:48 warning:55
Core desired:40 warning:50
Then I checked automatic fan speed in the main menu of speed fan.
I should have waited 4 more days before I messed with it.But I just wanted to see if it works,& it seems like it is & it won't go back to default when I close the program.I think it works because it has been keeping temps in that range very shortly after doing this.40-45.Hasn't went past 54* all day & I been watching full HD vids on youtube mostly.Been using core temp to check temps. -
A real world 'stress test' would be to do some encoding. When I want to heat my i7 up I use HandBrake and re-encode a couple of DVDs to AVC codec. It heats up all four cores pretty quick. And does something useful at the same time...

Ran for a hr.It got up to 63*,but went back down in a split sec.Mostly stayed at 62*.I selected the 3rd option, tests everything & alot of ram.My room temp is 80.5*F @ 55% humidity.Seems like its ok.Thanks for the tips on stress tests.Would you say it is mostly broken in now?

Your temps seem pretty good to me.

What's a good program that can stick to the taskbar or other places on the desktop so I can keep a constant eye on the readings?
-
Everest does that.

HWiNFO also has a gadget that will show you the tmeps as long as you keep the program running.
Best program for CPU,GPU,& bridge tempature reads?
