Anyone knows what settings give the best quality in media player classic. Just bought a new desktop with 1GB ATI 4850...so was hoping to get the best movie quality.

Best movie quality is what you downloaded it in...sorry to say, but no media player is going to make a substantial improvement over that.

Media Player Classic sometimes freezes up my whole machine sometimes when I try to resize the window, I then switched to VLC, just as good and simple and no crashing.

VLC is best..although i agree Video quality is not the best.

WMP 11 with DivX has a very good video quality.

anyway for music both suck.... Foobar is best for music

Ever tried playing HD content with VLC on a 2,4 GHz Northwood? Powerpoint plays slideshows faster. So VLC is good as long as you got a potent processor. If you don't MPC +CoreAVC is the best solution out there.
