The Notebook Review forums were hosted by TechTarget, who shut down them down on January 31, 2022. This static read-only archive was pulled by NBR forum users between January 20 and January 31, 2022, in an effort to make sure that the valuable technical information that had been posted on the forums is preserved. For current discussions, many NBR forum users moved over to NotebookTalk.net after the shutdown.

    I had downloaded limewire and liked it but then discovered over 400 trojens on my computer!!! (thank you antivirus scanning!!) and after reading the thread on here about limewire..I'm done with it.. What's the best program to use (or atleast teh one with teh least virus and crap)

    I don't think the fourm supports p2p sharing. It's illegal and the admins don't want to get into any trouble.

    Like ccbr01 said, NBR doesn't support illegal activies which include P2P and bittorrent (if downloading protected material).

    If you want music, there are several places like ceiph said where you can buy singles and download it.

    Movies/Games -- most are protected, so chances are you won't find any legal solutions there. There are some rent and download movie type sites, but I'm not sure of how good they are.
