Either it was a heck of a coincidence that my local tower was upgraded at the same time that I installed my Windows 7 signature edition of x64 Ultimate or there were some improvements in the OS.

With Windows 7 RC and every OS prior I was averaging about 600k down and 300k up. I have been using 3G wireless for several years and have never got speeds that I am getting now. Now I am consistently hitting over 2000k down and 600k up.

you do know that every 3G provider is updating/upgrading their networks.

    it's a coincidence

Yeah--they must have added another T1 connection to the tower or something.

The behind the scene mechanics are unimportant. That your local provider is spending the $$ to upgrade/update wireless data capabilities is very nice.

Yeah, it's probably because there is a lot of oil and gas activity here for the past couple of years. It hasn't been very long that this rural area had only dirt roads and party lines. Half the time i would pick up the phone one of the neighbors would be on it and I would have to wait for them to get off.
