Hi everyone, I was reading this thread and I wanted to update my bios with a usb or a cd (but I'm not sure how to put them in a usb or cd and make it work). I have never done a bios update before so any help would be great. At the moment I've downloaded the bios files from this page and there's 3 files (57RU_108.WPH, PHLASH16.EXE & Refresh.BAT) in it. What should I do with them?
Thanks.

usually you just download the file.. and it is an auto installer. just run it, then it will ask you to restart, then during restart it will install the new update
that .exe file should be the flasher... just run that. -
I've tried running the .exe file but when I run it it gives me 3 beeps and tells me "File Open failed on the BIOS.WPH file"...

You may have to create a bootable CD onto which you place the three files you've downloaded.(I suppose that, if your system supports booting from USB, you might also be able to create a bootable USB drive with the BIOS update and the BIOS flashing utility (and the refresh.bat, too) on it - try googling to see if anything comes up).
One place where you can get the ingredients for a bootable CD to be used for BIOS updating is here.
More broadly, here is my Google search on the terms "bootcd" "BIOS" "update". As you can see, the offerings are quite extensive.
More to the point, did you get a hold of Eurocom's basic instructions? They've a text doc called winphlash.txt that gives some (extremely) rudimentary instructions; to wit:
They also provide a download for a self-extracting bootable floppy. I believe that you should be able to take that self-extracting bootable floppy, and a suitable CD/ISO burning utility, create an ISO image out of the bootable floppy, burn it to a CD, and boot from CD. -
Thanks for the help. I've tried "WinPhlash" but it doesn't work. I'm following the instructions at http://www.biosflash.com/e/bios-boot-cd.htm and trying to find a place to download Nero V6.0, which I have not found 1 yet since the latest Nero version is version 8 and I only have version 7...

Are you running Vista? If so you might need to run the .exe as administrator.

I'm running Windows XP Pro 32-bit here.

Alright, all is fine now. I followed the instructions at http://www.biosflash.com/e/bios-boot-cd.htm and successfully updated my bios. After that I reactivated my Windows. Thanks for all the help!

Glad to hear it!
