    Hello,
I've come across this problem before, and searching reveals no solution. Vista sometimes blanks out the network connection icon shortcut I have on the desktop.
Does anyone have any idea what .dll has the correct icon, so I can fix it?
    Thanks. :)

Thanks, but that wasn't it. :(
I tried netcfgx, netshell, netman, and shell32, they don't have the correct icon. :(

I'd rather not. I found the fix a while ago, but I can't find it again.
IIRC, it had something to do with the icon cache getting messed up, and editing the desktop.ini and including the correct icon there. Can't find it now, ugh.

You might try rebuilding the icon cache. Show hidden files and folders first, go to C:\Users\(your username)\AppData\Local, delete IconCache.db. Then restart the computer.

Who cares? It's easier to just make a new shortcut. Drag the icon from the Network Connections control panel window to the desktop. Then delete the old shortcut.

I tried that swarmer, and it still shows up blank. It's strange.
I'll try to rebuild the icon cache, thanks for the suggestion. :)
