Can you turn off the laptop, by pressing the power button?

And can you turn it back on, after that?

So, your computer is running and all light indicators and stuff, are normal? Just the screen is blank?

Have you tried connecting your laptop to an external monitor?

Also, have you tried booting in safe mode? or even may be, try to boot from OS DVD?

Indicators are on ...laptop is running but only the screen is blank.
Even I can see from my modem that my net is also running that means downloading is going on.

No after pressing the power button for few secs I restarted my notebook and then is starts as usually and everything was fine.

Alright, please be patient, buddy. :)

It could possibly be a display driver problem or may be just the monitor has decided to take a walk. Hence, the suggestion to try plugging to an external monitor.

Just plug in an external monitor and switch from the laptop display to the external display. There should be an hotkey on your laptop (I am not sure what it is, for your model). Check in the manual (something like Fn+F8 or similar).. See if the external display will show your desktop.

Ok, so your graphic card and everything is probably just as well. May be something is wrong with the laptop display / monitor. Have you tried calling HP customer support?

    Hey

I have tried one thing.I just set sleep instead of do nothing in close the lid option.and then I closed my lid once and open as a blank screen .

Then I press mouse and space bar button twice or more than that...then what happened is all my lights and indicator goes off .Then I press the power button once and in few momemnts I got back my last screen.

Do u think this is the solution or soved my prob.?

Actually what I have done is created that problem to try some self made method.

    Please tell me.

    Thank you.

As your problem started when you updated using "net"; then the best way is to restore/repair your system prior to it. And stay away from that "net" update next time around.

    cheers ...

    I understand your issue.

Fact is that this problem started AFTER an update that you made. Rather than running around and trying to figure out what was being affected, the sensible way is to restore your comp to the original state when you first had it. Restore, repair or re.install however you want to call it.

    cheers ...

But the problem is I have not created any restore point.

So I cant restore the notebook as it was before the updation.

Then you would need a repair/re.install

Stick in the installation CD and follow the prompts.

That seems a bit drastic to reinstall yet, perhaps turn off sleep mode first then research a bit more, unless you don’t mind losing your files.

This is just what I would do as really do not want to step on anyone else who has helped you so far.

Not sure what OS you are on so will post both way's of shutting down sleep till such time you get it resolved.
There have been a ton of similar concerns on this all around, that’s bad in a way but good as we may better find a resolution to your problem.

    A few questions as well…
-Does it happened both “plugged” in and running on “battery”?
-What OS? – Assuming its Vista---- EDIT- I should read your sig ;)

    • When Sleep mode is disabled you screensaver will still come up.
    • First let’s turn off sleep mode for the time being and go from there.

    Windows XP
    1. Go to Start then Control Panel and click on Power Options
    2. On the Power Schemes tab, select Home/Office Desk in the Power Schemes drop-down box
    3. In the box labeled System standby, select Never
    4. Click OK to save your changes.

    Windows Vista
    1. Go to start and type in the search box Power Options hit the enter button
    2. On the Left side there is a panel Click Change when the computer sleeps
    3. Click the drop-down box which says Put the computer to sleep and select Never
    4. Click Save changes

Today again I faced that problem...but I tried to press [Fn + F4] to get back in the monitor image.

And I am suspecting that may be my keyboard is not working. The notebook is on as its indicators are showing lights. And why I am telling that the keyboard is not working coz the Caps Lock light is on and I cant switch off the caps lock as the I am sure that my keyboard was not working at that time.

But after rebooting from the power switch its working fine and remains good.

What do u say my friends?

What can be the reason of not getting the image back after sleep mode.

    Thank you.

    True.

OP was given the suggestion of repair/re-install. A repair would not cause the user to lose personal data.

You know it was sound advice considering there is an image on the HD and the laptop was only a few days in use, no worries. :)

    avirup

Well if your in a hurry you may want to to a system restore as "qhn" stated, which is an option, your system was shipped with image on your HD for just such a case per HP.

I also found a few issues on the HP site that have updates from them relating to your model specific. Posted the links below, just follow their instructions.
No guarantees these will solve your particular problem but the evidence so far points to it.

Notebook PC May Display Black Screen and Stop Responding When Installing Intel Video Driver

Also I would give HP a call, sure they would be glad to help, remember you did not do anything wrong and it's their product.
