So I just got a new Sony Vaio FW (thanks to everyone that helped me decide) and like all other sony's it came with a bunch of bloatware. I have a vista ultimate dvd and wanted to do a clean install. However, there are some programs that came with the notebook that I would like to keep. Is there a way to do this?

No, the notebook came with a partition and software to create recovery cds to restore the computer to when it came from the factory, but there are no cds with the programs.

You guys are quick, I really appreciate it. Mostly just the Vaio ones and a few others such as the ones for the webcam (arcsoft), windvd, roxio, and this thing called smartwi. I don't need aol or napster or office home and student (i have professional which is what i need) or anything else.

They should be available on the support page of your notebook.

if you are a student, usually you can get free programs from your school, or at least severely discounted. if not then they should give you something on the CD, i got nero for free.

i guess just ask sony tech support.
