Check if there is a "Minidump" folder in the Windows Directory ??
-
yes there is a folder with a DMP file in it in C:\Windows\Minidump
-
Ok, upload the latest/relevant minidump as an attachment (in .zip format).
-
Ok, how do i upload it as a zip file? I know how to make an RAR file and do that, but not zip file. have Win RAR.
-
Right click on the minidump -> Add to archive -> Archive format: ZIP
-
Oh wow, i didnt know it was that easy. Thanks for the info. Here is the attachment...

I used to get this error. This problem occurs when a driver doesn't wake up from sleep correctly. It may even happen a little while after resuming the computer from sleep.
To fix:
- Make sure you have the latest BIOS update from your computer manufacturer.
- Make sure all the drivers you have installed are up-to-date.
- Go into Device Manager, and on every device you can think of, right-click it, select Properties, and if there's a Power Management tab, go there and uncheck "Allow this device to wake the computer". This option doesn't show up for all devices, but look for it on bluetooth, network cards, modem, mouse, keyboard.
- If you have hardware that you never use, disable it in device manager. This might include modem, smart card reader, Firewire, PCMCIA card, etc. (If you ever do need it, you can re-enable the device again in 10 seconds.) -
Also, update the Wifi driver.
And go into CMD > PowerCfg -DeviceQuery wake_armed
See if the wireless module is listed. -
i hope ur computer is not gateway p7811fx.

This is the first time I've seen a bugcheck 0x9f with A1 = 0x4. I was unable to find anything at MSDN on this, except this
If there are any other minidumps, upload all of them.
And also Run > Msinfo32 > Save as .INFO, and upload that too.
If the above is not possibe, #8 ^.
I suggested the Wifi thing, because according to the OP, that was the device that got disabled and triggered the BSOD. -
-
Anyway, I remember Driver Detective being offered by CNet. I ran it, it was clean, but you need the paid version to download stuff.
Which wireless card is it ? -
it happened three times, yes. What does BSOD mean? Blue screen of death im assuming? there was, but only one minidump file...
ok, so i guess i have the latest drivers then if not in HP update?
Intel 4965 -
Try installing this one. If it is the same, you could rollback to a previous edition.
-
Ok installing now. it happened again inbetween my last post and yours.
-
Is there a new minidump now ?
-
ok it updated. it says this:
:Intel (NETw5v32) net (07/08/2008 12.0.0.82)
^^exactly and it says device updated is the status. so will the prob be fixed now?
yes, there is two now. -
Well, then see if another BSOD/minidump shows up.
If it does, update/change every driver in the system, since the BSOD is driver-related. -
yes there is another minidump file in the folder. I updated all of the drivers that needed to be updated. Thank you for all of your help. i will post back if the problem happens again. thank you again for all of your time.
