Im recently learned custom sprays with transparent backgrounds. I am planning to make a fake bombsite a spray, which would look jsut like a real one, to confuse the nubes. I have gimp photoshop and paint.Net. I feel like its easyest to use gimp for sprays with clear backgrounds. The problem i am having is choosing the right red color for the letter a( which is not a big deal), but what i really want to figure out is how to make the color semi transparent, just like the game. if you guys know how to make your lines semi transparent (preferbaly using gimp) please tell me. this is the beta version of my spray, (the beta version is jpg, so the background is black. Once again, if you can help me make lines transparent, i will greatly appreacialet irt.

    thank youi!!!!!!!!!!!!

I am not sure if I understand what you are trying to do, but jpegs don't support transparency. You will have to work with a file type that does, like .png

For example I converted the attachment you posted to png with transparency background, removed the black and made it totally transparent, and reduced the opacity so that the 'A' is see thru.

    Done in gimp

*i know the deal about first making the background transparent, which is what you did, but what tool did you use?

The transparency can be achieved most graphics packages. Simply turn the opacity of the entire image to a lower value, and then save it as a .png, as pngs have very good transparency support (gif won't look half as good).

Surely it's better to have the wall texture as the background on yer spray, because then you could spray it over something else. Like spraying over a "B->" with your "A->", which would really confuse them :p

Thing is though, some server admin don't like decoy sprays, and this might class as one. Dunno, just a warning in case you get kicked from a server. :D
