After getting my netbook, I've come to <3 fullscreen web browsing. But I hate not having my bookmark toolbar in fullscreen Firefox, also hate the sidebar since it takes up so much space, defeating the purpose of fullscreen.

I've searched around google, didn't find anything that works. I even tried messing with the userChrome.css.

Anyone know how to make the Bookmark Toolbar appear in fullscreen mode?

    Mozilla Firefox 3.0.4, Thx

I have a few extensions installed (to hide the tool bars, including bookmarks, among other things) and just checked and my bookmarks pop out of autohide mode when I move my mouse over to the left side of the screen when in fullscreen mode.

All of the extensions I use are listed and linked to here.

The one specific to this discussion is SideBarAutoHide although you might want to look at 2PaneBookMarks and SideBarIcons as well.

I'm trying to avoid the sidebar completely. Would be nice to just have fullscreen + original bookmark toolbar, It doesn't even need to autohide.

But, if I cant figure out a way, I may have to go your route. :(

But thx for the input though :D

Another alternative is the SpeedDial extension.

Configured as I have, with 25 tabs, each tab with 20 thumbnails, greatly reduces the need to go to bookmarks. Set each thumbnail to not autorefresh.

    Thanks.

I hit the Windows tab which brought up the task bar and was able to close, then re-open.

    F11 is easier!

Ok, SpeedDial is great, because you can add the button to the navigation bar, (the only bar that stays in fullscreen mode). On the button it has an option for a quick drop-list of all the bookmarks in SpeedDial, AWESOME!

So, if you miss your bookmarks toolbar in fullscreen firefox, and hate the sidebar, this is the best way to go. :D

The options can also be set to that SpeedDial stays in a tab, so if you have multiple groups of SpeedDial thumbnails (as I do) they will all appear as "sub-tabs" under the Firefox tab for SpeedDial.
