Ok so I have to write a research report for my university and I've chose to compare the two operating systems: Vista and OS X...

so I was wondering where I can find these books that deal with the technical aspects of the Windows Vista operating system???

Because I just can't find any books on these stuff and everything books I've came across are the "How-to" and the "dummies" books and they don't help me...

So do you guys know any books relating to what I'm talking about???

Define "Technical aspects". What exactly do you want to know?

I can't give you a but, but I can tell you where to find the tech resource on Windows.
    http://msdn.microsoft.com
    http://technet.microsoft.com

These two Microsoft resources provide tons of information.
You may have to search a bit around the MSDN library, but in theory it can solve/explain everything Windows related.

One word of warning -thesear very tech savy articles - so if you look up things like RAM management in the MSDN library, its written in "tech jargon".

well I'm looking to compare like the User Interfaces, and securities between the two operating systems since these are mostly the two main "things" to be discussed, and software available and efficient (as someone from the Mac OS X forums have recommended me doing).

You'll get some of the information here. Is it what you're kind of looking for?

Get Windows Internals, 5th Edition, by Mark Russinovich. That book will give you more information than you ever wanted to know about the plumbing and guts of the WinOS family.

    I'm sure there is a 4th edition of it...^_^
