will have to take a look into it. However, judging from all the posts, it doesn't look like the hotfix helps much.

I think it should help, just make sure you have the latest BIOS, firmware and driver installed for your laptop and USB 2.0/3.0 ports.

According to the guys from the windows seven forum, this hotfix doesn't help at all unfortunately:

You can see some benchmarks here:

They should look into making their download server for this hotfix able to handle more than one request at once. It's like I'm trying to access a freakin Pentium I server over dial-up or worse.

Will try again (I've tried this before) to install this hotfix and see if I can get it to work. Not expecting anything great though.

The other guy near the end of thread says it works, I'm not too sure who to believe; I'll be giving it a shot anyway since I don't think it can do any harm besides I think maybe it's meant for USB 3.0...

Seriously, you guys aren't downloading core OS components from any of those third-party links are you?

    Third party links? Where?

The install worked but I didn't see much improvement. My benchmark topped out at about 22mb/sec on my Microcenter 4gb flash drive. That's roughly the best I could get before the hotfix. Only time will tell though if this ramps up the stability of transfer speeds, as I've always seen a lot of fluctuation before. I'll try some of the files I've tested with like movies and pictures, but that has to wait until my media server goes back up. It's in for rma right now...

Sounds like an update for manufacturers to take advantage of in their usb firmware in the future, laying the groundwork for USB 3.0 storage devices?

If this is a "New Feature" why is it released as a hotfix?, makes no sense.
