    Friends,

I would really appriciate if some one can really help.
    I have Dell Inspiron 2200

    My Issue:
Every time i boot my computer with the 'battery's i get a message ' battery recalibration ' press esc to continue or press f1 to recharge the battery.

The battery never gets fully charged/dis charged, nor i am looking for an option to change the battery.

    * When my battery started loosing holding the power (max 10 mins) i freeze my battery 12 hrs and let it come to room temp and reinstalled and it started holding more charge. Works for me! Find the video on You Tube.

I just want to skip the message every time i boot my comp permanently.

This problem was fixed long ago by one of the Dell representative, but now i am out of the service period so maybe some knows what buttons to press and get rid of it for good.

Looking forward to a great reply. Thanks

To the previous poster, I did not find that very helpful despite it ranking highly in the google search for this problem. The recalibration or ignore option only causes the same problem next time you turn the laptop on. If you press your setup key at Bios (for my dell this is F2) and go to the advanced tab, there is an option to toggle battery recalibration error, If you set this to off and save changes the system starts up normally. I know my battery is dead its 5 year old but we use the laptop on the tele for DivX and web TV so finding this out was great.

    Good Luck
