Boot Problem

Hi Guys
wondered if you could help
I'm trying to downgrade from an acer aspire one 521 from win 7 to Xp and although I'm able to alter boot sequence to see my usb key with xp on i just keep getting no operating sysytem
This must be a known issue and I will search the site but as usual this needs to be done yesterday

Ted, first thing I would try is using the USB key in another machine, just to verify it is working, you can cancel it before any changes are made.
If the USB (Flash drive) does not work, you may need to recreate it http://www.intowindows.com/how-to-c...-flashpen-drive-with-a-single-click-must-try/ is a site I had book marked and have used to created a vista installation.

I've a bootable usb which is good
However beforehand in my rush I formatted the hard drive from DOS and as a consequence have no windows.old folder
Now when i try to finish the setup it keeps looking for certain dll and sys files
Do i have to reinstall win 7 again first before i try downgrade to xp or do you know a shortcut I can try

really hope i dont have to reinstall win 7 as I dont have an oem for starters
