Hey there. I'm running the RTM Windows 7 Ultimate x64, and i've come across a problem in the boot screen.

After trying to get my webcam to work with different drivers, the boot screen changed from this:

    Windows7_Beta_Boot_Screen.png

    to this (paint recreation):

    Untitled.jpg

I thought I could solve the problem using the same method for the "reverting to vista screen" fix, so i ran bcdedit in cmd, only to find that there is no descrepancy between language settings:

I also tried the "repair computer" option, hitting F8, and I've enabled boot logging, but nothing unusual seems to be happening in the log.
Nobody else seems to have this problem. Any suggestions?

    Try this:

Type cmd into the Start menu search box and run as administrator

    Run the following commands,

    bcdboot %WinDir% /l en-US

    Change the en-US to the language version of the installed Windows 7, such as ja-JP, de-DE, es-ES, pt-BR, zh-CN, zh-TW, fr-FR, fi-FI and etc.

    and restart.

vinumsv - sorry, i forgot to mention that i already tried that and it didn't work. That's because the installed language is en-US, and it's already the same in both the manager and the loader.

I'm thinking it's probably the boot screen files that have changed, while keeping the same name (for some strange reason). It would probably help if i knew which files are causing the problem and then attempt to change/replace them.

I've just had an idea though. I'll try changing the language to something else, like fr-FR, and then switch it back to en-US. That should cause the vista boot screen to appear, and then the win7 one (hopefully)

I'll try that and report back later, but in the mean time has anyone got a different idea?

Oddily enough, changing the boot language from en-US to it-IT doesn't show the vista loading screen, but the italian windows 7 loading screen!

I changed the language back to en-US and eureka! it worked!!!

I have no idea why that happened, but thanks vinumsv for inspiring the idea!!

On my netbook I'm getting the Vista boot screen instead of the Windows 7 one.
I guess I'll try this fix when I get home.

Apparently the only reason it does that on netbooks is because of the 1024 x 600 screen resolution, but try it anyway.

    Nope it did not work.
Didn't know about the netbook thing, so I'm guessing that's probably the reason.
    Oh well, no big deal!
