Does anyone here know how can I make a boot cd to boot up in DOS?
I have burned one, but it only works on my desktop, and does NOT work on my notebook. I don't know if it is anything deal the cd-rom drive. I have a Sony A190.
Can anyone list step by step what is the right way to burn a boot up dos disc?

Well if it worked on your desktop, it ought to work on your notebook. I feel like your problem might be you need to change your boot order in your BIOS settings. While the notebook is booting (early on in the process generally), at some point there should likely be a line of text somewhere telling you to Push [DEL] for Setup or something like that. Push the delete key then, and you should get to your Bios settings. You may have to poke around a bit - I suggest not changing anything other than this, but look around for 'Boot Order' or something like that and alter the setting so that CD-Rom is checked first by the computer. I'm sorry I can't be more specific because the process is generally slightly different for each individual computer.

I have done the boot order in BIOS, and I got a frozen screen without an error message. I am not sure if I made any mistake when I burned the cd.
therefore, i hope someone can let me know what is the right way to make a boot up dos cd.
    Thanks

You can make one using Nero. Download and make a boot floppy. Leave the disc in the drive. Open Nero. Hit boot cd. Burn it. You don't need to put any files on the disc, it takes them from the floppy. It should work like a normal boot floppy. You can do fdisk, etc. You can't save to it though. Nero's trial verion is fully operational for 30 days. Good Luck.

That's what I did to use Nero to burn, but I couldn't boot up dos. After I did some research, I don't know if I need any cd-rom driver to put on the cd in order to boot from my notebook, since the boot up disc from Nero might just contain most of the cd-rom drive but not all. If I am wrong, please correct me.

I am able to boot up dos in desktop using the same cd.
