I just bought a Samsung Series 9 NP900X3C. I reinstalled Windows7 Home Premium with a C: partition for programs, and a D: partition for data.
I would like now to make a bootable SD-card with windows recovery or installation software. How do I do that and how do I check that the Samsung supports booting from SD-card?
If that is not possible, how do I make a bootable USB stick?

Windows 7 USB/DVD download tool
never thought about using an SD card but i'd imagine it's only possible if you also have/use a USB card reader. unless your BIOS supports booting from an integrated card reader...? -
So how do I check that my notebook supports booting from integrated SD-card reader?
I checked the Win 7 USB/DVD download tool. According to Microsoft website, it seems to work only with iso's purchased from their store. It did not work with an iso I made from my own installation disk.
How do I solve that problem? Can I download an iso somewhere that works with the USB/DVD download tool? Or if not, what other way do I make a bootable USB stick with an installation or recovery iso? -
see if you can prioritize the card reader in the boot order. i'm 99% certain you can't, but a couple google results led to my 1% uncertainty.
i'm not sure i understand what you mean. the utility would seem to work with any disk image. are you receiving an error? -
Booting from SD does not seem to work.
I tried to make a bootable USB but ran in same kind of problems with Win 7 USB/DVD download tool as described in following website:

So now I give up on this tool and next I will try following approach:

no surprises there. this thread is funny.
again, what error message/s are you receiving?
that being to manually format and copy install files onto your thumb drive?
out of curiosity, how did you create this disk image and from what? your win7 home premium disk? -
hello mattcheau
The errors were as described on the website quoted.
I now proceeded with making a bootable USB drive and posted my experiences in another thread:
