I have a HP lapper that i nuked the hdd with Darik. I killed off the partion that had the recovery info along with everything else. lol. It came with win7, I have no discs but a repair disc I made b4 I nuked., So im dead as far as software is concerned. I do not mind buyin win 7, aslong as she will take it. I also have another win 7 lapper that I can prolly copy files off of if needed.
As of now she boots up to the X: prompt and I cant do anything with her. I cant seem to find the C drive at all. Off in space somewhere. Can she be fixed, or toss it and buy another on LOL
TIA

if you're conscious of the fact that you "nuked" the enitre drive, why are you looking for the "C drive"? if you have a legitimate product key, you can download W7 using this guide and install it.

after a nuke it will be totally clean.
you then need to turn her (has she got a name) on with the operating system disc in the drive and it will build the c drive.
there was links on here to download vista or 7 from digital river as long as you had your licence code but i think theve been shut down now.
someone else might be able to advise better. -
All you need to do is get the right windows 7 .iso form here (version and language): http://forum.notebookreview.com/win...-digitalriver-windows-7-sp1-13-languages.html and use the activation key on the COA sticker that is somewhere on the laptop.
For the record, when you nuke all the data on a HDD, it is no longer bootable, so it is normal that your laptop will not even shot C:, it just doesn't exist anymore. It will try to boot from something else, optical drive, network, etc. and that is why you're seeing X:. Some laptops will simply show a no boot device detected message.

Tsunade_Hime such bacon. wow
If you don't know how to or cannot get Windows 7 recovery media, you can order it from HP for like ~14 + shipping (free is like a couple days).
