My latest downloadhelper plugin update wasn't downloaded properly so it's always giving me an error message when I try to update. I'm thinking of finding the directory where the borked download is stored and deleting it so that the plugin can do the job right the 2nd time round with a fresh start. Anyone have any ideas where firefox places plugin update files?

you can run firefox safe mode... then you should be able to remove the add-ons.

the location of the firefox plugins is usually:

    For XP:
    C:\Documents and Settings\[username]\Application Data\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\[xxxxxx].default\extensions

    For Vista:
    C:\Users\[username]\Application Data\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\[xxxxxx].default\extensions
