    Hello,

The OEM version of Vista looked like a good alternative but I wasn't prepared for what I received.
First there's 5 disk in the pack and reference to having to install the OEM preinstallation kit.
If anyone has bought one of these and knows what the 5 disk are for and what the pre-installation kit is I sure would appreciate it.

I bought Vista Ultimate x64 OEM from Newegg, but there was only one disc marked "64-bit software only". The packagaing did look intimidating (with the references to OEM builders and all), but it installed and activated like any retail version.

Post a picture of what came in the box/order. That might help sort things out.

    Regards,
    Paolo

It's possible you have the following:

    1) 5 cd's instead of 1 dvd.
    2) 5 oem copies of Vista. :D

p.s. you could post a link to what you purchased as all we can do is guess or speculate. I purchased an oem version of Vista Ultimate from newegg and it came in a dvd case with 1 disc.

You might want to call newegg on Monday and ask to speak to customer service.

I think you hit the nail on the head!....I checked the package and I do indeed have five cd's instead of one DVD !....I also checked the newegg site and I did indeed order the OEM Vista Business DVD....Thank you very much for suggesting something that should have been obvious.I'll call newegg on monday.
